12 Days of Christmas: Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-vous

Ah Christmas: the most wonderful time of the year. As we fill our stockings and break our overdrafts, watch afficionados the world over look for their next big fix. So, what better way to celebrate the Yuletide countdown than with a selection of our most finest and festive here on The Watch Gallery. Day 2: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-vous.

When it comes to haute horlogerie, nobody does it quite like Jaeger-LeCoultre. This high end maison has crafted the finest in jewellery watches for centuries and as a result, has little competition at the top. But, what makes a Jaeger-LeCoultre so special? Is it the fixation with diamonds? Is it the super-complicated in-house manufactures? Is it the thoroughly classic aesthetic? Well, after looking at the splendid Rendez-vous, it appears to be all three of these things.

Good things most certainly come in small packages: this Swiss made ladies’ piece boasts an automatic movement comprised of an astounding 204 individual components. Although small in appearance, a mighty 28,800 vibrations per hour emit from the finely-tuned mechanics that enables a 43-hour power reserve. In addition, you’ve got a one barrel watch with an hour-minute-seconds display, day and night indicator, anti-scratch sapphire crystal glass and water resistance up to 50 metres.

Granted, at £27,100, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-vous isn’t just something you whip out on the supermarket run – this is a fine example of a special occasion piece that is the jewel in the crown of any ladies’ watch collection. It doesn’t get much better than this.
