Panerai pay tribute to Galileo Galilei
Inspired by legendary Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei the new Panerai L’Astronomo is the first watch from the brand to feature moon phase indication introducing Galileo’s celestial findings into a wearable wristwatch.
With a name like the Luminor 1950 Tourbillon Moon Phases Equation of Time GMT 50mm, the new L’Astronomo is as inspired by Galileo’s scientific drawings as the astronomer’s insightful observations. The back of the watch shows embossed text reading “Tribute to Galileo Galilei” and small window featuring a rendered sun and moon – this shows the phases of the moon alongside the placement of each heavenly body in the sky. Within the skeletonised display is a date display situated underneath polarised crystal for perfect readability. Alongside its outstanding technical features, the watch is completely customisable and made to order, making each one a unique piece of wearable art.
