Panerai release Art Deco Radiomir 1940 3-Day Acciaio 47mm

Inspired by a pendulum clock from the 1800s, Panerai introduces a new take on its classic Radiomir 1940 wristwatch. The new “Art Deco” Acciaio 47mm special edition sees the first-time use of not only a railway-track chapter ring on the dial, but also the placement of elegant spear-shaped hour and minute hands. A direct reference to the watchmaker’s early days as a clock and pocket-watch retailer (well before they began making timepieces for the Royal Italian Navy), and the dial for this watch design is a reference to a cherished pendulum clock from Panerai’s first shop in Piazza San Giovanni, Florence.

The watch has a a 47mm AISI 316L stainless steel case, an open-back case design, a domed Plexiglas crystal, and is water-resistant to 100 meters. As the name suggests, the watch has a power reserve up to 72 hours thanks to the twin spring barrels from the in-house P.3000 calibre movement, however, you’re still going to have to hand-wind this watch.

The watch is limited edition and only available from Panerai.

However, Bucherer has a full range of Panerai timepieces for you to explore here.
