Seven Friday: The M2/02
To most, SevenFriday is seen as a thoroughly modern brand – and they’d be correct in such assumptions. The new M-Series M2/02 is about to change all that.
Whilst machinery and technology still plays a central role, SevenFriday has looked towards the design of the Industrial Revolution for a little inspiration. Movement parts are made of cast iron and copper in a nod to the old school whilst a brown calf suede leather strap adds a notion of tradition; SevenFriday may not be known for heritage pieces but if keeping cool means keeping it classic, consider us sold.
Technically speaking, the M2/02 repeats on SevenFriday’s engineering focus. An open balance wheel automatic movement ensures ultimate precision thanks to a trusted Miyota movement (the 8215 to be exact) with an impressive 40H running time. The interface is comprised of 7 layers, 11 applied parts and a 5N rose gold finish that offers a cast iron grain stamped pattern and a hollowed-out hour plate – all expertly crafted by CNC machines. Furthermore, the M2/02’s aesthetic more than compliments the existing SevenFriday family with a dark grey mirror PVD bezel with rose gold lines throughout and a staintless steel case.
Priced at £1,275 (a more-than-accessible cost), the M2/02 ‘Copper’ is an exceptional choice that can be dressed up with tailoring or toned down in a casual tee-jeans combo. Real versatility is essential when purchasing a watch and with a seamless fusion of old and new design, unparalleled technical proficiency and a youth-appropriate aesthetic, the M2/02 is arguably the perfect timepiece. Keep your eyes peeled for The Watch Gallery launch.
