SIHH 2019: A few Sneak Peeks

Constantly changing but nonetheless going strong, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) begins next week in Geneva. Often seen as the more exclusive watch fair (compared to Baselworld) SIHH has gone the extra mile, inviting more exhibitors, attendees and press. This year there will be no Van Cleef & Arpels exhibiting and next year Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet are due to leave.

There will be 35 exhibitors for SIHH this year, 18 historic watch brands, predominately Richemont and 17 more independent watchmakers. A few brands have already let us see what they will be unveiling at SIHH…

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Perpetual Calendar

Following the same blueprint as previous Laureato’s the newest version features a perpetual calendar that takes up space on a galvanic blue Clous de Paris dial. The days are shown at 9 o’clock and the date at 2 and 3 o’clock with the month appearing from a larger window at 6 o’clock; a very unique take on a calendar housed in a 42mm case.

Piaget Altiplano

With celestial influences the luxury Swiss brand unveils three new pieces from its infamous Altiplano collection. The first is a high jewellery piece is a classic two-hand watch that features baguette diamonds across the bezel and dial. The second is a 41mm white-gold Altipiano Tourbillion with a unique meteorite dial with a flying tourbillon at 2 o’clock. The dial features a “Widmanstätten” pattern typical of the structure found within iron meteorites. The last piece is a classic two-hand piece on a grey meteorite dial with a pink gold case and date window.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracan Performante

Based on a namesake Lamborghini the watch contains a skeletonised dial with black lower flange, anthracite upper flange, rhodium plated indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.
