Telling the time with Chanel
Chanel is one of the world’s most revered fashion houses known for its timeless designs, trademark suits and infamous black jackets.
Chanel has been creating timepieces since 1987, their first collection suitably named the Première Collection took inspiration from the iconic design of the Place Vendome that Coco Chanel looked out to from her room at The Ritz, Paris. The collection was curated under the creative direction of Jacques Helleu and remains a major part of the brand’s current watch portfolio.
Assembled in La Chaux-de-Founds, there are five major collections that form the brand’s portfolio;
The first Chanel watch that fused the worlds of haute couture and haute horologie. The Première was designed by the late Jacques Helleu and broke through traditional pricing brackets. As the first luxury fashion watch the Première remains a discerning choice for any fashionista.
The recognisable J12
inspired by America’s great yachts, the J12 was branded as a fine jewellery sports watch and became an instant hit; it was unisex, water resistant and provided effortless wearability.
Jewellery watches and Mademoiselle Privé
Here Chanel dabble in to the world of metiers d’arts, born from artistic crafts to create masterpieces of refinement and femininity.
The most recent Boy.Friend
The name “Boy.Friend” refers to the fact that as a woman, your boyfriend will want to steal it from you. Of course, this is highly subjective.
The Boy.Friend watch takes cues from classic watch designs, like the original Cartier Tank and early Patek Philippe dress watches. The unique details of the Boy.Friend include canted corners and a stepped bezel while the rectangular case is uniform. Collectively, all the details of this carefully considered watch make for a supremely unique timepiece. The Boy.Friend features a recessed circular guilloché dial for a truly timeless finish and within the dial is a further recessed subsidiary dial. The stick hands of the watch have also been designed to remain classic and inoffensive. Overall, the dial is aesthetically pleasing and takes the stylistic influence of a men’s watch.
Rooted in so much heritage and innovation Bucherer are proud to include Chanel in our watch portfolio.
