What is a Watch Complication?
A watch complication is any function that a watch performs in addition to telling the time in hours, minutes and seconds.
Some watch brands consider a chronograph (stopwatch) or date function as a small complication. For fine watch brands, a complication includes any movement types such as a minute repeater, perpetual calendar or moonphase.
The more complications a watch has, the more difficult it is to design and create because of the number of additional elements that must be built into the standard movement. Such watches are highly sought after because of innovation required in designing them, in addition to the skill and precision needs to build and manufacture such timepieces.
