The story behind the Breitling Superocean

Having conquered the air Breitling turns its attention to the sea with the Superocean collection. Originally developed in the 1950s as a diving instrument for professional and military divers. The main principles of the Superocean are easy legibility and high level functionality. All of the series come fitted with a C.O.S.C certified automatic movement and feature oversized hands and numerals which are luminous making them easy to read in all conditions. With a helium safety valve included, the Superocean has reached depths of 500, 1500 and 2000 metres. At the 2012 Basel watch fair Breitling introduced the Superocean M200, the first and only chronograph to be water resistant to 2000 metres.
